Degree Sought: Ph.D. Civil Engineering, Rice University
Research topic: Multi-Hazard Risk and Resilience of Transportation Infrastructure
Leanh Nguyen is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Jamie Padgett's Research Group and a 2025 GEM Fellow. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a focus on Structural Engineering and Mechanics, from Rice University in Houston, Texas. For three years, he worked as an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. Jamie Padgett's Research Group on developing fragility and resiliency models for port and coastal facilities and modeling the impacts of the debris removal process on recovery and resiliency. Currently, his work continues to focus on the debris removal process, expanding upon debris removal’s connection with recovery and resiliency and discovering possible improvements through satellite imagery and debris prediction models.
