Research topic: Risk and Resilience Modeling of Coastal Intermodal Transportation Networks
Anibal Tafur is a Ph.D. student working under the supervision of Prof. Jamie Padgett at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Rice University. He obtained his BSc degree in Civil Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru in 2011. In 2016 he obtained his MSc degree in Structural Engineering at the University of Manchester, UK, sponsored by the Peruvian Ministry of Education with the prestigious "President of the Nation" Scholarship. His current research focuses on the development of probabilistic methods for risk assessment of infrastructure, specifically resilience modeling of coastal transportation infrastructure subjected to natural hazards, working closely with the NIST Center for Risk-Based Community Resilience Planning.
